Michigan Catholic Conference

Resolution by the Michigan Catholic Conference Education Committee

Whereas

Religion, morality and knowledge are essential components for a good society; and

Whereas

Quality, value-filled education of all children has traditionally been a concern of the Catholic Church; and

Whereas

Archbishop Adam J. Maida has had the foresight to put forth an effort to provide an innovative educational opportunity to some of the at risk children of our society through the development of two ecumenical schools.

Therefore

Be it resolved that the Michigan Catholic Conference Education Committee commends Archbishop Adam J. Maida for establishing value-laden schools for the poor. We will follow with interest the progress and results of this innovative educational endeavor. We as a statewide Catholic education community stand ready to offer our prayers and moral support.
